Contractor & Vendor Procedures

Splendora Independent School District is a public educational institution that prides itself on maintaining high standards of safety and security for its students and employees. It is vital that all vendors and their staff adhere to all procedures outlined in this document. Any violation of these procedures may result in the denial of access to district property.

MANDATORY CHECK-IN REQUIREMENT:
The mandatory check-in for all contractors and vendors is at the Auxiliary Support Services Building located at 14455 Cox St, Splendora, Texas.
The Maintenance Director, Eric Reimer, is the point of contact and can be reached at 281-689-3124.

  1. All contractors and vendor employees are required to check in and complete all procedures before a visitor's pass is issued. To receive a visitor's pass, you will be required to present photo identification and be cleared through the Raptor system by use of your driver's license number. This system will identify the individual's criminal history. Positive reports will be reported immediately to the Splendora ISD Police Department, and the individual will be escorted off-site. The employer will be contacted concerning the individual's background check. Vendors with a clear report will be escorted to the work location by the technician requesting their services, and will also observe the task performed.
  2. The pass must be worn and visible at all times.
  3. Contractors must provide a list of employees, including names and driver's license numbers, to enable Splendora ISD to perform background checks.
  4. CAMPUS ACCESS & DOOR HARDWARE INTEGRITY (ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY): In accordance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) school safety standards, Splendora ISD maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding facility perimeter integrity. Contractors and vendors are strictly prohibited from propping open any exterior door, window, perimeter gate, or roof hatch. Additionally, contractors must never leave a door, gate, or roof access hatch unlocked or unattended while unbolted. Contractors are explicitly forbidden from holding doors open to allow entry to anyone—including individuals wearing official badges, district staff, or students. All individuals must enter independently through the designated, monitored main entrance checkpoints. Any violation of this access control policy will result in immediate removal from the premises and permanent termination of the vendor contract.
  5. The outside entity will be advised that Splendora ISD is a smoke-free zone.
  6. Consumption of any alcoholic beverages or the use and/or possession of illegal drugs on school property is strictly prohibited. Non-compliance with this rule will call for an immediate request to leave the property.
  7. Firearms or other weapons are not allowed on district property.
  8. Under no circumstances are vendors allowed to use campus cafeterias.
  9. Splendora ISD will not be held responsible for contractors'/vendors' property while on the school premises. SISD will not assume responsibility.

Pest Management Plan

The district is required to follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures to control pests on school grounds. Although the district strives to use the safest and most effective methods to manage pests, including a variety of nonchemical control measures, pesticide use is sometimes necessary to maintain adequate pest control and ensure a safe, pest-free school environment. All pesticides used are registered for their intended use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and are applied only by certified pesticide applicators. Except in an emergency, signs will be posted 48 hours before indoor application. All outdoor applications will be posted at the time of treatment, and signs will remain until it is safe to enter the area. Parents who have further questions or want to be notified prior to pesticide application inside their child's campus may contact Eric Reimer, the district's IPM coordinator, at 281-689-3124 or by email.
