Katelyn graduated from Splendora High School Early College in 2014, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree along with her high school diploma. Following high school, she attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was then accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Katelyn recently graduated (August 2020) with her doctorate and will soon start her career in Dallas. She is excited to become part of an inpatient rehabilitation team treating musculoskeletal and neurological injuries.
When asked what does it mean to be a Wildcat, Katelyn replied, "Being a Wildcat enabled me to get a big head start due to the Early College program. My experience at SHS promoted a strong sense of responsibility, determination, and work ethic.”
Joshua Zigal is a graduate from Splendora High School’s Early College Class of 2014, which he obtained both his Associate of Art’s degree and high school diploma. After high school, he attended Sam Houston State University and received his Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration. After college, Joshua became a part of the team at City Ambulance Service; where he would work his way up to become the Director of Business Development and Marketing. He has the duty of bringing in new business opportunities for the company, as well as being a part of the leadership team. Joshua still resides in Splendora and is working on obtaining his Masters in Healthcare Administration.
When asked what does it mean to be a SHS Wildcat, Josh replied, “Being a Wildcat means having a strong support system, along with being able to obtain the education to become who I am today.”
Kori Anderson is a graduate from Splendora High School’s Class of 2014. Kori graduated with 21 college credit hours and continued her education at Sam Houston State University as an Interdisciplinary Agriculture Major with a Minor in Secondary Education. She graduated in May of 2017 with a Bachelors of Science degree. She began her teaching career a Tarkington High School as an Ag Science teacher, but has found her way back home and will now be an Ag Science teacher at SHS. She and her fiancé, Cody Long, are both Splendora natives who were raised in the community. “I am very excited to be back home and give back to the community that gave so much to me, “ she said. During her time at SHS, Kori was instrumental in building the girls’ golf program (and still holds the record for placing first in District all four years in high school), was an involved FFA member, and named Miss SHS her senior year.
When asked what does it mean to be a SHS Wildcat, Kori replied, “During my years at SHS, I was given the key components to succeed inside and outside of the classroom. The amount of support and ‘family feeling’ I received at SHS was astronomical! Being a Wildcat means to support and encourage others through both the good and the bad. Being a Wildcat Alumni is an honor and something I will always be proud of.”
