Class of 2003

Class of 2003

Cody and Morgan Reneau

High school sweethearts Cody Reneau and Morgan Weaver first met in high school, sharing homeroom and history classes.

Cody, a 2003 graduate of Splendora High School, was actively involved in athletics. While a Wildcat, Cody lettered for two years in football, three years in basketball, and three years in baseball. He was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. After high school, Cody received an Associate's Degree in HVAC from North Harris College. Currently, Cody is the Chief Building Engineer of a historic 95-year-old building in downtown Houston.

Morgan graduated from SHS in 2004. While in high school, she danced on the Splendora Stars drill team and served as an officer from her sophomore through senior year. Morgan was also a National Honor Society member and yearbook editor. After high school, Morgan attended Sam Houston State University, earning her Bachelor's in Elementary Education. Following graduation in 2008, she returned to Splendora to teach second grade at Peach Creek Elementary. In 2020, Morgan graduated from Lamar University with a Master's in Special Education.

Cody and Morgan currently reside in Splendora. Morgan is a kindergarten teacher at Piney Woods Elementary and is completing her 16th year in Splendora ISD. They have been married since 2007, and the couple has two beautiful girls, Kendall and Avery. Kendall is currently in 7th grade at Splendora Junior High (SJH). She played Ladycat volleyball in the fall and is also an SJH cheerleader. Avery is in second grade at Piney Elementary and enjoys playing basketball. Both girls are passionate about dance and compete in All-Star dance with Dance Dynamics in Spring. As a family, we look forward to the competition season and their journey to the Dance Summit at Walt Disney World each year!

When asked what it means to be a Splendora Wildcat, the couple responded, "It's taught us to have a sense of pride and work hard at everything you do. We're so grateful to be part of a small town that has helped shape us into the people we are today. Splendora is home, and we will always be Wildcats!"

Kaci Cinnamon-Burton

Kaci Cinnamon-Burton graduated from Splendora High School in 2003, where she excelled both academically and athletically. A dedicated athlete, Kaci competed in volleyball, track and field, and varsity cheerleading. She was a three-time District Champion, setting a school record in the 300m hurdles. Her senior year was particularly remarkable as she became a regional champion and a state qualifier. Academically, Kaci was a proud member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 10 of her class.

In 2008, Kaci married her high school sweetheart, Stephen Burton, and they have two beautiful children together.

After high school, Kaci pursued her passion for healthcare at Lamar University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked in the Emergency Room for seven years as both a staff and charge nurse before advancing her education further. In 2014, she graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch and spent seven years working as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

In May 2022, Kaci fulfilled her dream of opening her own medical practice, Port Neches Family Medicine, where she provides comprehensive family care, medically guided weight loss programs, and hormone replacement therapy. Her practice has quickly become a cornerstone of the Port Neches, Texas, community.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kaci and her husband give back to their community meaningfully. They founded the Nederland Youth Track program and actively volunteer with the Nederland Youth Football Association. Kaci also partners with local school districts, offering physicals for students to ensure their readiness for sports and activities.

When reflecting on her Wildcat roots, Kaci shared:
“It means always striving to be the best you can be. The support from my coaches, teachers, and classmates served as a source of inspiration athletically and academically.  Being a Wildcat was the foundation for my successes and taught me to be a leader and never to give up.”

From setting records on the track to building a thriving medical practice, Kaci Cinnamon-Burton embodies the Wildcat spirit of perseverance, leadership, and excellence.

Cantu Family

The Cantu Family makes us proud! Five of Maria and Israel Cantu’s children are graduates from Splendora High School, but ALL of their children are remarkable citizens of our great nation. From Guadalupe to Marco, all are part of a military legacy that began with their father, Israel Cantu, Sr. Their father enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1966 and served 21 years in the Marine Corps. While serving in Rota Spain he met and married his wife Maria Isabel Arevalo-Salas. Their children Guadalupe Medina (no military service, but married a marine and their children are serving); Israel Cantu, Jr. (Corporal/USMC 1990-1995); SHS 1993 graduate Jason Cantu (Sergeant Major/USMC 1993-Present); SHS 1995 Graduate Marisol Zammitt (Captain/USMC 1999-2005); SHS 1999 Graduate Miguel Cantu (Commander/US Navy 2004-2015 and US Navy Reserve 2015-Present); SHS 2003 Graduate Adrianna Fox (Captain/USMC 2008-2103); SHS 2006 Graduate Paloma Lankford (Lieutenant US Navy 2011-2017); and Marco Cantu (Staff Sergeant/USMC 2011-Present) are all dedicated to this country.

What does it mean for most of the children to be SHS Wildcats?  “Our experiences living in a small town such as Splendora and attending school there has instilled into us a sense of altruistic values such as service to our community and this great nation. We are all proud of our town and our former school district. Go Wildcats!”
