Class of 2016

Briana Muirhead Hansen

Briana’s journey is a story of compassion, courage, and full-circle pride. A member of the Class of 2016, Briana graduated with both her high school diploma and an Associate of Arts through Early College, earning scholarships that set the stage for a future rooted in purpose. She continued her education at Baylor University, including a summer abroad in England, and completed Baylor’s Nursing Program in Dallas, graduating Magna Cum Laude and receiving the Learn. Lead. Serve. Award for her dedication to learning and giving back.

Briana’s career began in January 2020, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, in a high-acuity cardiac ICU in Dallas. She quickly rose to leadership roles, becoming a charge nurse, precepting new nurses, earning her CCRN and CSC certifications, and briefly serving in nursing education. Beyond her hospital work, Briana has served the community by volunteering with Literacy Achieves, teaching ESL to low-income mothers, and with Bonton Farms, a transformative agricultural project that addresses food deserts through urban farming.

In 2022, Briana and her husband, Brent, moved to Fort Myers, Florida, where she continued her ICU work and embraced new adventures, including welcoming their daughter, Addilyn, in April 2024. Later that year, the family returned home to Splendora, where they purchased a house and reconnected with the community that had helped shape her. Briana now serves with St. Luke’s ICU Float Pool, caring for patients across multiple hospitals while staying involved locally. She is helping plan the Class of 2016’s 10-year reunion, volunteering with her neighborhood social committee, and preparing to welcome another baby in July 2026.

“Being a Wildcat means making the most of the opportunities presented to us. Someone out there is working really hard to offer you those opportunities; the best you can do is take advantage of them and remember the community that made them possible! Give back when you can—try to leave a better future for those who come after you,” Briana says.

We are proud of Briana. She is a shining example of leadership, service, and heart, carrying the Wildcat spirit wherever life leads.
