Graduating from SHS in 1989, Gina attended Tabor Christian College in Hillsboro, Kansas, on a volleyball scholarship. After a year in college, Gina chose to enter the workforce. She currently works for Triad Financial Services as the Regional Manager for Texas and has been in the finance industry for the past 23 years. Her job requires her to maintain close relationships with her customers and train sales staff and General Managers on loan guidelines and the company’s programs. “I get to do lots of traveling across Texas, which I enjoy,” said Gina. Her husband, Jamie, and their two children, Blake and Bevin, live in Wimberley, Texas.
When asked what it means to be a Wildcat, Gina replied, "I am so proud to be a Wildcat, and I bleed red. The coaches and teachers I had taught me leadership, love, and a work ethic that I maintain to this day. Being an athlete taught me many valuable life lessons, and Coach Val Weldon's words of wisdom, ‘Gina, you can be anything you want to be, just keep that tenacity and never give up when the going gets tough,’ have inspired and shaped my life.”

Shae Sloan graduated from SHS in 1989. Shae was a four-year letterman in volleyball, basketball, and baseball. She was named Miss SHS, voted Most Likely to Succeed, and graduated 9th in her class. She held the women’s basketball scoring record for 29 years. After high school, Shae played shortstop for the University of Nebraska softball team and earned her Bachelor’s Degree. After college, she played professional baseball for the Colorado Silver Bullets, an all-female professional baseball team, that was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 1995. After retirement from professional sports, Shae attended Physician Assistant school in Lakewood, CO and completed her Masters in 2007. Shae has been a Physician Assistant since 2007 and currently works as a PA-C in Houston for UT Ortho - Sports Medicine. In April 2021, Shae’s book called Graftology was published. Her book is focused on sports medicine graft preparation, grafts concepts, and surgical pearls from a first assistant’s perspective.
When asked what does it mean to be a Wildcat, Shae replied, "I feel fortunate and proud to be a Wildcat. Splendora ISD faculty and coaches
(the Weldon’s) opened doors for me to play Boys Baseball. At the time, it seemed small; however, this directed the course of my life. Playing high school baseball, college softball, then professional baseball allowed me to play in every state in the United States (except Delaware and Rhode Island), across Canada and Taiwan. I will always be a Wildcat and support all Cats!”
