Class of 1998

Danny Duran is a graduate from the Splendora High School Class of 1998. He joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation and served from 1999 to 2016. While in the service, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. After his military career, he worked for his family’s business Mitchell Workz in Colorado Springs as an Operations Manager. In May 2018, he stepped out on his own and founded Duranco, LLC. When first starting out, his company did mostly residential painting and bathroom remodels. Just a few months ago, Danny divided the company into three divisions operating independently of each other: Duranco Contracting specializes in high-end door and window installations, Duranco Railing Workz (DRW) specializes in aluminum railing installation, and Duranco Designs specializes in custom woodworking, primarily furniture and cabinetry.

What does it mean to be a SHS Wildcat? “To be a Wildcat means never forgetting where I come from; walking through the woods, swinging from a rope at one of a hundred different swimming holes, or sneaking off past the bar-ditch to the back 40 for no other reason but to go exploring…just loving life every step of the way.“
