Suzette Hill Berry’s roots in Splendora run deep. Her family moved to the community in 1973, and she proudly graduated from Splendora High School in 1980. Growing up here brought memories she still treasures today—riding horses, spending time at the creek, and cheering for the Wildcats. Splendora has remained home ever since, where she raised her children and now watches her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews attend.
For the past 28 years, Suzette has faithfully served the district through Splendora ISD Transportation. She spent 14 years driving a regular route bus before moving into a role close to her heart, transporting students with special needs for another 14 years. She also serves as a trainer, helping new drivers earn their CDL and sharing her expertise in caring for students with special needs.
Suzette says her students mean the world to her, and her coworkers have become like family. After nearly three decades of service, she will retire in May. While she knows she will miss driving the bus each day, her love for Splendora and its people will always remain.
For Suzette, Splendora isn’t just where she lives—it’s home.
