Cultivating Exceptional People

Class of 2004

Class of 2004

Heather Greer

Heather Greer is a Splendora High School Class of 2004 graduate. After high school, Heather received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from East Texas Baptist University, a Master of Science degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis on Sport Administration from Northwestern State University, and is currently completing coursework for her Doctorate of Athletic Training degree from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. She is in her 7th year as an athletic trainer for Galveston Independent School District. When asked why she chose this field Heather replied, “The only reason I am in this profession is because of Travis “Doc” Jones. He helped me recover from an ankle injury my sophomore year in high school and showed me what the profession was really about. I had never even considered going to school to be an athletic trainer until his compassion and hard work showed me how I could help future student-athletes just as he had helped me. He made a huge
difference in my life that would change the course of my future without even realizing it.”

When asked what does it mean to be a SHS Wildcat? “Being a Wildcat means striving to be the best. Not needing to be better than everyone else, but trying. That’s where character comes from, it’s in the trying. All of my coaches and teachers taught me this and I am proud to be a Splendora Wildcat!”

Alton Moore

Sergeant First Class Alton Moore is a 2004 Splendora High School Graduate. He has an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources Management and has been serving in the United States Army for the past ten years. A field artilleryman by trade, he is currently serving as an advisor to coalition forces across the world, with the 3rd Security Force Assistance Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas. Alton has over 30 months of deployment supporting combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Alton has a son named Owen Shiner Moore.

When asked what does it mean to be a Wildcat, Alton replied, "Upon moving to Splendora in seventh grade, I was quickly welcomed into the supportive community that still holds true today. The strong foundation SISD built for me was paramount for my experiences throughout the world. Driving down FM 2090, passing the schools, always lets me know that I’m home. That feeling makes me proud to forever be a Wildcat.”

Kera Enloe Firmin

Kera Enloe Firmin is a Splendora High School Class of 2004 graduate. After high school, she attended and
graduated from the University of Houston—Downtown where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Using her degree, Kera became a teacher for eight years, six of which were in Splendora. In 2018, she received her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and joined Hardin ISD as an Assistant Principal.  This year, Kera has accepted a position as a District Instructional Coach in Shepherd ISD.

When asked what does it mean to be a SHS Wildcat, Kera replied, “To me being a Wildcat comes with a sense of pride. I value the education that I received at Splendora and would not be where I am today without it. I will always cherish the memories I made at Splendora and will always consider myself a Wildcat. “

Timothy Hayes

Timothy Hayes is a proud 2004 graduate of Splendora High School and a native Texan. During high school, he participated in football and was a member of the World Area Studies Abroad (WASA) Club. After high school, he furthered his education at Lamar University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. In 2008, Timothy joined Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office and began his career in law enforcement. With 16 years of dedicated service in Harris County, he now serves as a Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detective. In 2023, Timothy received commendations from Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Houston 100 Club for his remarkable work solving a quadruple homicide cold case from 2014. Beyond his professional achievements, Timothy is also a Deacon at Second Baptist Church. His wife, Michelle, teaches at Peach Creek Elementary, where their children attend school.

When asked what being an alum meant, Timothy replied, “Being a Wildcat means always striving to be better than you were yesterday. A sign in the football program’s facility read, Adversity is not Defeat. This attitude has stuck with me since. Being part of a small, close-knit community and school was influential in shaping me into the man I am today. I cannot thank the teaching, coaching, and administrative staff enough for providing an excellent learning environment, which was the foundation of my future studies and success.”

Cody and Morgan Reneau

High school sweethearts Cody Reneau and Morgan Weaver first met in high school, sharing homeroom and history classes.

Cody, a 2003 graduate of Splendora High School, was actively involved in athletics. While a Wildcat, Cody lettered for two years in football, three years in basketball, and three years in baseball. He was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. After high school, Cody received an Associate's Degree in HVAC from North Harris College. Currently, Cody is the Chief Building Engineer of a historic 95-year-old building in downtown Houston.

Morgan graduated from SHS in 2004. While in high school, she danced on the Splendora Stars drill team and served as an officer from her sophomore through senior year. Morgan was also a National Honor Society member and yearbook editor. After high school, Morgan attended Sam Houston State University, earning her Bachelor's in Elementary Education. Following graduation in 2008, she returned to Splendora to teach second grade at Peach Creek Elementary. In 2020, Morgan graduated from Lamar University with a Master's in Special Education.

Cody and Morgan currently reside in Splendora. Morgan is a kindergarten teacher at Piney Woods Elementary and is completing her 16th year in Splendora ISD. They have been married since 2007, and the couple has two beautiful girls, Kendall and Avery. Kendall is currently in 7th grade at Splendora Junior High (SJH). She played Ladycat volleyball in the fall and is also an SJH cheerleader. Avery is in second grade at Piney Elementary and enjoys playing basketball. Both girls are passionate about dance and compete in All-Star dance with Dance Dynamics in Spring. As a family, we look forward to the competition season and their journey to the Dance Summit at Walt Disney World each year!

When asked what it means to be a Splendora Wildcat, the couple responded, "It's taught us to have a sense of pride and work hard at everything you do. We're so grateful to be part of a small town that has helped shape us into the people we are today. Splendora is home, and we will always be Wildcats!"

Gabriela Montes

Gabriela Montes graduated from Splendora High School in 2004. During middle school and high school, Gabriela was involved in cheerleading, volleyball, track, cross-country, yearbook club, and was also named Homecoming Queen her senior year. She graduated seventh out of her graduating class, attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and obtained a Bachelors in Biology, and then was accepted into podiatry school. She earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She then completed her surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Chicago. Although she loved the windy city, she moved back near her family in Arizona. Dr. Montes is also a proud fur-mom of an 8-month-old mini goldendoodle, who she named Chicago.

When asked what it means to be a Wildcat, Gaby replied, "I am so grateful to be a part of such a great school, because without the amazing
teachers, coaches, and student counselors, I would have not been able to figure out the college path. I was able to apply for scholarships to attend college, which led to my doctorate! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! Forever a Wildcat!“
