John Coleman graduated from Splendora High School in 1997. John was a 4-year letterman in basketball and baseball and a  3-year letterman in football. He was named Mr. Splendora High School and graduated 7th in his class. John's love for baseball took him to San Jacinto College, where he played for the Gators and helped lead his team to the runner-up position at the JUCO World Series. John transferred to Sam Houston State University, where he got his Bachelor of Science degree in
Kinesiology with a minor in Health and Fitness. John began his career coaching in Splendora ISD before starting his own company, Coleman Construction. John is now the Chief Operating Officer for Kennedy Fabricating in Splendora. He still resides in his hometown and is raising his children, Kynlee and Cash, who are 4th generation Wildcats!

What does it mean to John to be a SHS Wildcat? “Being a Wildcat means many things to me, but one thing that stands out is a saying we used to have, Wildcat pride, you gotta love it! Learning to take pride in everything you do, never give up, push yourself to do better, and be a good teammate. These are a few things I learned from my coaches, teachers, and fellow teammates. You cannot win or be successful without support from others. Surround yourself with good people and teammates, and take pride in your work. All of these things will help make you successful in life.”
